¡Hola desde México!
These first few days in Todos Santos have been an absolute blast! Our first home in Mexico is the Todos Santos Hostel. Here, we have met wonderful people, like Iker, our chef who cooks us delicious meals each morning.
Our hostel includes the main building with a kitchen and a few rooms, our yurt bedrooms, and some friendly cat faces.

While we are in Todos Santos, we are spending our mornings learning Spanish with local teachers Malena, Monica, and Fabricio. Then, in the afternoons, we spend time in and around the city with our guide Sebastian. On Saturday, we took a tour of Todos Santos, and learned about its history and how the town came to be. Then, on Sunday, we took a beautiful hike up El Puerto, a mountain next to the ocean.

From the top of El Puerto, we were able to see sea lions basking in the sun and whales breaching the ocean’s surface. El Puerto is close to a beach called Punta Lobos. We learned about this beach from the documentary Patrimonio that we watched before the trip. This documentary talked about how the fishermen in Todos Santos struggled to protect their town from developers in the U.S. In the end, the fishermen were successful in protecting Punta Lobos, and it was so cool to see in person where the documentary took place.
We also have been eating very well. My favorite place so far has been a restaurant called Tacos La Salsa. It had a very good potato and cheese dish I loved! This trip has been full of wonderful people and surprises. I can’t wait to see what we do next!
¡Hasta Luego!
