
Every morning, our chef named Iker makes a delicious breakfast for our group. Iker is very personable and an amazing cook. We work in meal crews to help with cleaning the dishes and caring for the kitchen. For the Spanish class break, Iker cuts delicious, fresh and local fruits for us.

After Spanish class, we usually eat lunch at La Muñe, a restaurant, that has very good quesadillas and blue corn tortilas. Everything here is served with tortillas, and often you can choose between harina (flour) or maíz (corn) tortillas.

For dinner, we visit different local restaurants. Eating at various restaurants has given us a chance to experience the different ways quesadillas, tacos, and other foods are made. At most restaurants, there is an ingredients and salsa bar, where you can customize your meal by adding salsas and vegetables. This is a fun and delicious part of the experience, but beware that some foods on the salsa bar which look innocent are actually so hot that one hour later you can still feel the burn in your stomach! My favourite food so far has been the quesadilla with el pastor meat, which is a nicely seasoned meat in a quesadilla. From the ingredients bar, I like to add guacamole, tomatoes, and a little bit of hot sauce.
