Matt Hakala
Spanish Instructor
I was teaching English in a fishing village in Mexico when I became clear on how I wanted to finish my college degree. I returned to Colorado and graduated from Fort Lewis College with a degree in International Studies with a focus in Latin America. My capstone project involved living in Lima, Peru and working with an organization which provided support and education to the poorest children. After graduation, I continued to travel and teach, both domestically and abroad, returning to the Upper Arkansas River Valley, where my family originates, ten years ago.
I appreciate the integrity and values which guide the philosophy of The Link School and am honored to be part of such a caring and professional team and share my experiences of and appreciation for the language and cultures of Latin America in the capacity of Spanish Teacher.
