The Art of Storytelling in Spanish

This September in our Spanish 3 class, we’ve focused a lot on storytelling and writing. The idea behind this approach is to see what the students can produce with the language skills they have. This means I am specifically interested in the content of the students writing, rather than the specific proficiency in certain grammar structures (which is also very important!). My hope is, by focusing on production, rather than replication, the students become more confident in their speaking and writing skills—two areas that language learners always seem to struggle with.

Below are a couple examples of comic book strips the students were asked to create for homework this month. They were each given specific vocabulary words that they had to use in their comic strips. The comics they came up with were creative, funny and most importantly used loads of Spanish!
