The Link School

I was raised in Orange County, California, but my family’s roots in Colorado date back to the late nineteenth century, and both of my parents were raised in Denver.  After graduating from UCLA with a degree in economics, I headed north and attended law school at the University of California, Berkeley (until recently known as Boalt Hall).  After Berkeley, I headed back to Los Angeles and joined a large international law firm, where I have practiced as a partner for the last 30 years.

Our family has deep connections to Buena Vista.  My wife Wynne was a camper at the A/U Ranches in the 1980’s, and she spent a year on the rafting staff.  More recently, we began attending family camp at A/U with our three children when our youngest was just two years old.  Later on, all of our children spent numerous years at both Sky Valley and Roundup Ranch, two of our children worked on the A/U staff (one as a rafting guide and one in the corral program), and we enjoy spending time at our home just south of the Link School and A/U in the Game Trail community.  I love hiking in the mountains, have peaked about a dozen of Colorado’s fourteeners, and look forward to peaking many more in the coming years.

I have a strong interest in education, and served for many years as a trustee of Berkeley Hall School in Los Angeles, from which all three of our children graduated.  I am a proponent of both excellence and choice in education – hence, my interest in supporting the Link School as a board member.  I love Link’s unique mission, particularly its explicit grounding in the teachings of Christian Science, and I am in awe of the amazing opportunities that it offers students looking for a non-traditional high school experience.  And, what better place to learn than the mountains of Colorado!

Beyond my work and family commitments, Wynne and I are leaders of an NLC class (2024S) and enjoy international travel.
