Residential Assistant Support
What I would have given to go to high school at a place like The Link School! A tight community of students, along with a phenomenal team of fun-loving, creative teachers, mentors and leaders gives teens opportunities I could have only dreamed of as a kid. So it is an extra special gift to work with this family of young people, sharing in laughter, adventures, thoughtful conversation and being witnesses to each other’s personal and spiritual growth.
I fell in love with Buena Vista during my first summer at Adventure Unlimited Ranches as a staff member at the age of 16. From my first glimpse of the Collegiate Peaks and the Arkansas Valley, I knew I had truly come “home.” I received my BA in Sociology and Anthropology with a Minor in Spanish from Principia College. I have worked in education serving youth mentoring programs, including working for the Boys and Girls Club, Chaffee County Mentors, Outward Bound as a scholarship advisor, and most recently as a Principia College Resident Counselor living with and mentoring more than one hundred college women over four years. I specialize in youth character education. I am also trained as an Integral Life Coach, a Community Building Facilitator, and am a Certified Ceremony Celebrant specializing in designing and officiating ceremonies for any of life’s major milestones (especially weddings).
In addition, I LOVE to travel! My passport has been decorated with stamps from Argentina, Chile, India, Thailand, Australia, Greece and Trinidad & Tobago. From the depths of slot canyons in Utah to the summits of grand mountains like Mt. Princeton and Mt. Rainier, from the outer Great Barrier Reef to the Lake District of the Andes, from 15,700 feet in Mt. Kangchenjunga wilderness in the Himalayas to hanging out with Leatherback sea turtles as they lay their eggs in Trinidad – Life has taken me on many adventures.
I feel incredibly honored and thrilled to be a part of such a progressive community of life-long learners. With my loving, exuberant pup, Lucy-Lou (pictured!) by my side, I feel honored to contribute comforting support, deep listening, delicious food and good humor to our family atmosphere. I love my work, which is filled with spontaneous dance parties, movie nights, town runs, teaching Sunday School, reading aloud fascinating books, navigating uncertainty together, playing games, and taking part in healing with each other as we strive to overcome any limitation presented to us!
