My love for the mountains comes from growing up in Nevada near Lake Tahoe and spending many summers in Colorado at the A/U Ranches, where I led back-country camping and leadership programs.

I currently work at Principia College in the Study Abroad Office, collaborating with faculty to plan international experiential academic programs. As an international educator, I love seeing students make connections with people and cultures different than their own and the impact that has on their worldview and understanding of global citizenship. I have traveled internationally with student groups to Greece and Italy, and domestically to Colorado, Montana, and Utah.

Before my role at Principia, I was the director of DiscoveryBound’s National Leadership Council, and I was co-leader of the 2022A class. I worked for the Christian Science Monitor after receiving my master’s degree in international communication from American University in Washington, DC. I received my bachelor’s degree in journalism and international relations from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA. After college, I lived in Ghana for three years while serving as a health education volunteer with the Peace Corps.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, exploring, and entertaining my two cats, Myrtle and Yertle.
